Not every case needs to go to court, or remain in court.

We work proactively to secure out of court outcomes where appropriate, including:

  • Community Resolutions
  • Youth Cautions
  • Youth Conditional Cautions
  • Diversion schemes
  • No Further Action (NFA)

We make early, strategic representations to the police and Youth Offending Team, highlighting:

  • The young person’s age and vulnerabilities
  • Evidence of exploitation or coercion
  • Lack of previous offending
  • Positive steps taken since the incident
  • Educational, medical or family circumstances
  • Safeguarding concerns
  • Gravity Matrix scores

Diversion can prevent a young person from entering the criminal justice system and avoid a criminal record. We act quickly to secure the most positive outcome.
